Getting the Footers In

This view shows the footers for the front porch area and some of the crawlspace, with the lower level in the background.



This shot gives a better view of the lower level, and you may be able to see where the retaining wall will begin.


Once the initial grading was done, we had a fierce rain and the more snow than any other time during our 9 years in Due West. If you look carefully, you can see the mud left after Paul, who is doing the grading, dug a trench at the back to let the water drain out. Before he did that, the water was about 15" deep.
