By the middle of the day on Saturday a bit of water had accumulated in the garage area. The rain is still coming, and I expect that once the rain stops it will take a few days until it is ready for the concrete. Not the least of the concerns is that the cement trucks have to be able to get in and out without getting stuck.

By Wednesday Paul had backfilled around the foundation and Don, Doug, Elisabeth, and I spread some pine straw around the foundation to help prevent the rain to come from making a big mess.

On Tuesday the waterproofers came and sprayed the blocks with what seems to be essentially black tar. Then they put a layer of insulation against the blocks on the outside.

Also on Tuesday, the pest control people treated the walls and covered them with plastic since rain was predicted.

Here is Paul, who has been doing the grading for us. He leveled off the gravel for the porch and the lower level floor on Monday.
